The Monark 874E Weight Basket Cycle Ergomedic Ergometer is at the heart of ergometry testing, the innovative weight basket has its origins in the 1950’s with the original Astrand inspired cycle ergometers. Since then Monark have refined the system and launched the 874E. To guarantee accurate readings during testing and research, it is crucial to be able to calibrate and control the ergometer, the 874E solves this issue by a direct weight loaded braking system, the system is therefore always accurate always calibrated.

The Monark 874E Weight Basket Ergomedic Cycle is an ideal ergometer for fitness testing. It provides a range of features which ensure that testing protocols are easy and simple to deliver, while ensuring the safety of the client/subject. The design provides a stable platform for stationary cycling both at heavy loadings and high revolution pedalling. The cycle frame is reinforced to ensure years of service and a frame which will remain robust and not flex for many years. The high-quality instrumention panel displays heart rate from the wireless transmission chest transmitter belt, while speed, cadence, distance is display from on bike sensors plus, time, calorie consumption and power are calculated display items

Monark is associated with safety and quality. With this in mind the Monark Ergomedic 874 E has been developed. A new weight ergometer with a softer design, more stable and re-inforced frame. First-class new instrumentation panel to displayheart rate by using a chest belt, speed, pedal revolutions, distance, time, calorie consumptions and power in watts.

The new Monark 874 retains the traditional and safe measurement system with the advantage of improved mechanics.

The Electronic Instrumentation Meter displays:
Pedal-turns per minute (RPM)
Heart rate in beats per minute (HR)
Cycling-time in minutes and seconds (TIME),
Intended cycling speed in km/miles per hour (SPEED)
Distance covered in km/miles (DISTANCE).
In addition braking power can be set, giving a reading of calorie consumption (CAL) and power in watts (WATT).

The 874E is the latest and most current version of the ergomedic weighted basket cycle ergometer by Monark its mechanics are further improved from previous versions and continues to feature a large, well-balanced flywheel. The Monark 874E features an adjustable seat height and handlebar with a quick release lever and also includes wheels for easy transportation. The patented weight basket system does not require calibration and the precision of the weights ensures that the workload is correct.

Monark ergometers are developed and constructed to meet and exceed the demands and regulations of health care, medicine and sports science. The Monark 847E includes a chest belt and PC softrware application.
