Bodymetrix body composition analsyer is of particular interest in that it approaches the methodology adopted by skinfold calipers in a new and innovative way, by measuring the single layer of subcutaneous fat at each of the traditional skinfold measurement sites. Linked directly to a computer the calculations are made according to the algorithms of such standards as Durnin & Worsley. The benefits are skinfold methodologies are tried and tested, ultrasound is just a new way of acquiring the data, inaddition ultrasound doesn't present the same negatives that bio-impedance does as being so dependent on the body being correctly hydrated.
