Monark 828e Cycle ergometer
Monark 828e Cycle ergometer  (Reference #500504)

Monark's Ergomedic 828e is the successor to the extremely successful and defacto standard cycle ergometer for aerobic testing the Monark 818e, often referred to as the Astrand cycle after the world leading expert in Ergomery. The 828e has a new design featuring a completely housed flywheel and a further strengthened frame.

The newly designed instrumentation panel now displays effective output in watts and using a telemetric transmitter heart rate is also displayed. The duisplay aslo features pedal turns per minute, cycling time in minutes & seconds, target or intended cycling speed in kilometres or miles per hour and distance covered in kilometres or miles. In addition braking power can be set, giving a reading of calorie consumptioon and power in watts.

The Monark 828e maintains its commitment to the balanced pendulum system - it provides an effective measurable resistance braking mechanism. A system that can claim to be the most widely used test cycle system in the world, recognised by exercise physiologists as the research standard, in part due to its ability to be easily calibrated and checked for calibration within the laboratory, sport science centre or consulting rooms.

Monark 839e
Monark 839e  (Reference #500507)

Monark claim the 839e model is the world's most accurate cycle ergometer due to its mechanical braking system that is further controlled by electrornic servo mechanism to enable a constant workload independent of pedal speed. The Monark 839e has recently been selected by the US Airforce for us in medical and fitness testing throughout the organisation. The 839e is the perfect ergometer for fitness assessment, cardio-respiratory stress testing, exercise physicogy research, sports medicine investigations and rehabilitation. The control panel is used remotely from the ergometer via a connecting cable. The control panel facilitates the setting of pre-programmed protocols including Astrand, Bruce, YMCA, Naughton, Ramp, Heart Rate adjusted workload and Incremental. In addition custom or individual exercise protocols can be programmed and stored. Heart rate is monitored by various options including optical ear sensors, telemetric chest belt transmitter or connected to a compatible ECG machine.

For the purpose of producing high quality research and clinical data the 839e is straight forward to check calibration and to fine tune the calibration if required.

The Monark 839e is compatible with all ECG machines capable of sending analogue signals and with digital ECGHs where the supplier has added Monark as a compatible cycle ergometer.

Measurement parameters displayed on the control panel include distance (Km), Energy (Kcal), Force (N), Power (Watt, kpm/min, V02), Time (min:sec), Pedal speed - rpm (revolutions/min).

Supplied with the cycle is the 839e analysis software which facilitates a two way connection with the ergometer for recording data and setting the parameters of the exercise protocols.

Monark 884 E sprint cycle ergometer
Monark 884 E sprint cycle ergometer   (Reference #500509)

Monark Ergomedic 884 E is especially made for efficient exercise where you get immediate feedback.

It is developed in close co-operation with Bosön Institute of Sports and the Swedish Champions in Ice Hockey.

It is designed in a way that the athlete will be able to perform the interval exercise in a most optimal way. Without external help and without loosing energy by complicated programs or too much pushing buttons. All energy can be focused on performing a better result in each interval.

Max userweight 125 kg (275 lbs)

The Sprint Bike is available in 5, 7 or 10 second editions and also works as a regular weight ergometer.

New electronics will show the average rpm from the period as the interval is performed.

The weight basket is a patented self-regulating braking system witch don't need calibration. As long as the basket is in the air and the weights are correct even the brake force is correct. The mechanics of the weight basket has been improved witch will increase the safety of the releasing moment.

A unique construction makes it possible for the cyclist to release and restore the basket during exercise. The basket can even be released by the mechanics in the front.

Electronic meter that shows pedal rev per minute RPM, HR, TIME, SPEED plus DISTANCE. In addition workload can be set, giving a reading of CAL and WATT.

DESCRIPTION

Large, well-balanced flywheel 22 kg (48 lbs).

Adjustable seat height.

Adjustable handlebar with quick release lever.

Stable frame, solid steel tube.

Steel crank

Power painted.

Wheels for easy transport.

Chest belt and PC Software are included.

Monark 894 E peak cycle ergometer - Wingate
Monark 894 E peak cycle ergometer - Wingate  (Reference #500506)

During the development of the anaerobic ergometer the focus was to create a safe bike that is easy to use, combined with an attractive design.

The result is Monark Ergomedic 894 E Peak Bike. A new bike however, still with the traditional characteristics of a Monark bike. A brand new frame with a softer design, but with improved performance regarding stability and rigidity.

The Windows based software, with more setting possibilities and a clear presentation graphic, is easy to use.

Thanks to double sensors, faster electronics and improved mechanics we minimize the possibility for problems during the work with anaerobic tests.

The Peak Bike also works as a regular weight ergometer.

The new Windows based software increases the setting possibilities for anaerobic tests. The testime can vary in a range of 5 to 300 seconds, with 5 second intervals. This means that the standardized Wingate test still can be perfomed. The analysis features is better in this new software. Both analyse of a single test or individual- and group comparison is possible.

The weight basket is a patented self-regulating braking system witch don't need calibration. As long as the basket is in the air and the weights are correct even the brakeforce is correct. The mechanics of the weight basket has been improved witch will increase the safety of the releasing moment.

Combined SPD and Clips pedal with threads in standard dimension fits the most common pedal systems.

The saddle post has adjustment possibilities in both height and length. This increases the setting opportunities for different cyclist. Most saddles fit the post thanks to the round end of post.

Electronic meter that shows pedal rev per minute RPM, HR, TIME, SPEED plus DISTANCE. In addition workload can be set, giving a reading of CAL and WATT.

The Wingate Test - Also known as the Wingate Anaerobic Test ( WANT), was developed at the Wingate Institute, in Isreal during the 1970s. The Wingate test requires the subject to pedal a mechanically braked bicycle ergometer for 30 x seconds, at an all out pace.

A counter is used to record revolutions of the flywheel in 5 - second intervals. On commencing the test ( usually by a verbal signal from the tester ), the individual pedals "all out" with no resistance. Within 3 seconds, the pre-determined fixed resistance is applied to the flywheel and remains there for the duration of the 30-second test.

The Wingate test is perhaps the most popular assessment of:

Peak Power (PP)

Peak power is ideally measured in first 5-second interval of the Wingate test and is expressed as follows:

Force x Total Distance (Time in minutes)

The result for peak power is expressed in watts (W)

Relative Peak Power (RPP)

Relative peak power is determined simply by dividing peak power by body mass and is expressed as W/kg

Anaerobic Fatigue (AF)

Anaerobic fatigue is calculated as follows:

Highest 5-second peak power output - Lowest 5-second peak power output. Then multiply by 100 to get the percentage decline.

Anaerobic capacity is expressed as kilogram - Joules ( 1kg-m =9.804 J ) and is calculated by adding together each 5-second peak power output over the 30 seconds.
